Progressive Maharashtra is a FICCI initiative towards building sustainable competitive advantage in the state of Maharashtra. With increased competition from states like Gujarat and Karnataka, Progressive Maharashtra aims at renewing Maharashtra’s attractiveness.
The objectives of this effort therefore are to:
This project was initiated with a series of interactive round table meetings across Maharashtra held with the aim of understanding industrial development issues in the various regions. These meetings have been successfully completed at Navi Mumbai, Ratnagiri, Kolhapur, Nasik, Pune, Nagpur and Aurangabad. From this foundation, FICCI will prepare a white paper to provide concrete policy recommendations to build sustainable competitiveness in Maharashtra. There will also be an opportunity to focus on specific thrust sectors and industrial development issues under the umbrella of Progressive Maharashtra.
This initiative is supported by Government of Maharashtra in association with Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture (MACCIA).

- To provide concrete policy recommendations to the GoM, especially on the subject of infrastructure and governance in Maharashtra.
- To promote Maharashtra as an attractive investment destination.
